Problem

With an extremely tight deadline of 6 months from concept pitch through to physical build. I had to sharpen up my 3DS Max skills to deliver a physical and digital homage to one of my favourite confectionaries.

Physical Solution

Physical Solution

After 3 pitched concepts and multiple iterations, we landed on a carousel design. Incorporating a vertical slatted canopy overt the main stand to allow lighting to pour through. Milled banisters divide the three shelving units with emoji’s hanging in place. The central pillar is coated in a seamless pattern and covered in giant lollipops.

Both the large and smaller carousels include animated marquees which draw the customers in with key messages and a sense of place. A bespoke floor pattern was illustrated using classic Barcelona tiles and hide intricate messages directed towards the brands ‘Forever Fun’ angle. To top it off we designed a larger than life lollipop for that Instagram wow moment.

We built a larger than life giant Chupa Chup lollipop for that Instagram wow moment, our main event evolved into2 ‘Chup-Bot’ touchscreens with a wide array of engaging content.

We designed 3 augmented reality filters based on the backpack creatures featured on the smaller stand. These filters were mapped to the users face and could be captured and edited with stickers and backgrounds, then downloaded via QR code for social sharing.

A set of pre-made games were also added to the Chup-Bot experience, along with a unique interactive timeline based on the history of Chupa Chups.
